Links to Tape Device Drivers, Listed by Tape Drive Manufacturer

1. In the list above, identify the library and the tape drive/generation you are installing; for example, you may be installing a T120 with LTO-4 drives, or a T50 with half-height LTO-3 drives.

2. Identify the manufacturer of the tape drive and the name the manufacturer uses to refer to the drive. For example,  the T120 LTO-4 drive manufacturer is IBM; IBM identifies the drive as IBM TotalStorage 3580 Ultrium 4 drives. Half-height LTO-3 drives are manufactured by HP; HP identifies them as HP StorageWorks Ultrium 920 drives.

3. Identify the operating system of the server running the backup software application--that is, the server that writes data to the drive.

4. Refer to the list below. Identify the drive manufacturer and click on it -- this brings up the manufacturer's Web site page with access to tape device drivers.

5. On the manufacturer's site, find the device driver (for the tape drive name you identified above) that runs on the operating system on the server that writes data to the drive.

6. Download the device driver and install it on the server that writes data to the drive.
